42 Step Boiler, Hydronic or Steam & Warm Air Furnace & Oil Fired Hot Water Cleaning & Tunings
Procedures:
- Turn T-Stat up, Check operation of boiler
- Shut boiler off
- Shut oil tank valve off
- Check level in oil tank
- Change oil filter
- Close FOV at burner
- Open oil tank valve
- Remove Strainer
- Open burner FOV, allow all oil to flow until it is clean
- Put strainer back on
- Remove nozzle assembly
- Check boiler stamp plate for maximum allowed gallons
- Change appropriate nozzle
- Clean retention ring
- Look down blass tube for carbon deposits
- Put nozzle assembly back together with only retention nut
- Direct high pressure line into bucket
- Open up oil burner valve
- Open up 3/8 bleeder
- Run unit to bleed oil until safety lock out
- Close 3/8 bleeder
- Press reset
- Run oil through high prressure oil line until second safety lock out
- Test transformer with tester - not screwdriver
- Wipe cad cell eye clean
- Run unit and test ohms with ohm meter
- Shut switch off
- Remove oil from basement
- Remove panel for brushing down boiler
- Inspect chamber for cracks or deterioration
- Put panel back on boiler & seal if necessary
- Remove smoke pipe
- Inspect chimney opening
- Brush smoke pipe down
- Put smoke pipe back together
- Run system by starting and stopping several times
- Let system come up to temperature
- Final check for any oil leaks
- Wipe unit down with Simple Green
- Place sticker on unit
- Make out Pass/Fail check list
- Efficiency Testing
